The City of Oakland Park's Financial Services Department mission is to ensure the integrity of the City's financial records and to continue to strive toward excellence in providing financial services to all of our clients, both internal and external, through prompt, courteous, and professional work.

There are four divisions within the Financial Services Department, the Accounting Division, the Treasury Division, The Capital Projects & Purchasing Division and the Financial Management Division.

Accounting Division: responsible for providing the City with accurate, timely financial information in compliance with governmental accounting standards and generally accepted accounting principles. The Division prepares the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and was again awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association.

The Accounting Division also maintains responsibility for the proper disbursement of City funds through the Accounts Payable and Payroll functions, fixed assets reporting, accounts receivable billing.

Capital Projects & PURCHASING DIVISION: responsible for the financial administration of the City's capital projects and grants; administers the City's debt, ensuring compliance covenants and statutory and regulatory requirements. Oversees the purchasing function, to obtain goods and services in a transparent and competitive manner that ensures the most cost-effective use of City resources.
